It may seem hypocritical for a company whose primary raw material is wood to be eco friendly but they have countered this by recycling wood from old buildings and barns in Brazil, thus ensuring that each piece you buy has a story to tell. Whatever excess wood not reclaimed from Brazilian architecture is harvested responsibly from the Brazilian countryside using woods like Peroba Rosa to further give their wares a more mature, weathered look.

Environment Furniture Inc. claims to be committed to helping out many socially responsible causes but I still find it two-faced to call yourself environmental and yet cut down endangered species of trees, regardless of how responsibly you may be doing it. They are undoubtedly great pieces of furniture and if you trust EFI on their origins I recommend you give them a look. It's better than what most other companies do.
